    1.        He must know that there is one God, and He is the creator of everything.

    The Bible clearly teaches that there is a God, and he is the CREATOR of all things.  For a sinner to be saved, he must acknowledge this fact and realize salvation is a personal relationship between man and God.  Nobody gets saved unless they first admit there is a God.  Below are some verses that prove their is a God, the creator of man.

Genesis 1:1             In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

John 1:1                 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:2                 The same was in the beginning with God.

John 1:3                All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Revelation 4:11     Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Acts 17:24            God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

    2.        He must know that he himself is a sinner.

    Before a sinner can be saved, he must first see himself as what he truly is, a vile transgressor, that has sinned against a holy God.  No one gets saved without realizes his need to be saved.  The need is because man's sin separates himself from God.  The following verses speak of man's sin.

Romans 3:10       As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Rom 3:23            For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 5:12        Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

    3.        He must know that because of his sin, he will go directly to Hell when he dies.

    A sinner must realize his sins will not take him to heaven, but rather to hell, and that salvation is deliverance from the penalty of sin.  Without seeing his impending doom (a Christless Hell), a sinner will not be scared, and feel the great urgency to be saved.  Hell is real, and sinners must know they will burn there forever, unless they come to Jesus Christ.  Here are some verses on Hell.

Psalms 9:17           The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Matthew 10:28      And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Revelation 20:14    And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Revelation 20:15    And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

    4.        He must know that God came to die and pay for his sins on the cross.

    A sinner must come to the cross of Calvary and meet Jesus there, who died in his place for his sins in his place.  Salvation is only through the substitute of Christ, the innocent suffering for the guilty.  A sinner must see this in order to completely understand what Christ has done for him.  The following verses show Christ as our great sacrifice.

1 Corinthians 15:1   Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

1 Corinthians 15:2    By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

1 Corinthians 15:3    For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that

1 Corinthians 15:4    And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Romans 5:8             But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

2 Corinthians 5:18    For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

1 Peter 3:18             For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

    5.        He must realize that salvation is free a gift of eternal life offered only through Jesus Christ.

    A sinner should realize that he will someday die, and the reason for death is sin.  He should then understand salvation is being "born again" or given new, ETERNAL life.  That is to say he'll live for all eternity with Jesus Christ if he gets saved.

Romans 6:23            For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ephesians 2:8           For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Ephesians 2:9           Not of works, lest any man should boast.

    6.  He must understand that salvation is obtained only by faith.

    A sinner must fully understand that does not come by DOING good works, but rather by trusting only in the WORK of Christ, that's been DONE on the cross, some 2000 years ago.  Salvation is by relying upon, or believing in this meritous act of God's love for sinners.  The following verses prove this important Bible doctrine:

Acts 15:11             But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

Acts 16:30             And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

Acts 16:31             And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Romans 3:28          Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Galatians 2:16        Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith

 of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Galatians 3:24        Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Galatians 3:26        For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Romans 5:1            Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Romans 4:5            But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Romans 3:25         Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of

 God;

Salvation is only by Faith in his shed blood!!!    A sinner must understand his sins are completely paid for, and he was forgiven all sins, past, present, and future, when he believed upon Christ.

    7.  He must understand that being saved means that your sins are gone!!!

    When a person comes to God for the salvation of his sins, he cannot think he is only forgiven of past sins, but not future sins.  Every Catholic goes to confession, or to the Mass, thinking IT will give him forgiveness of sins.  In other words, he's thinking salvation is not ETERNAL, it's only temporary.  But Bible salvation is forgiveness of ALL sins!   And when a sinner is forgiven, he's FORGIVEN FOR EVER!  Just look at the following verses:

Acts 13:39             And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Romans 3:24          Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Romans 5:1            Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Romans 5:9            Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

                    "Justification" In God's eyes, it's Just if I'ed never sinned!

Leviticus 17:11       For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

                     Atonement only comes through blood sacrifice!!!

Romans 5:11           And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

 A Christian has atonement with God.  "Atonement" means a sinner has "At one ment" with God.  Sin is taken out of the way, and he has access to God!

Ephesians 1:7           In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Revelation 1:5          And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

                    A Christian is washed  from his sins by God's own blood, at the moment he trusts Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour.

    Are you washed in the blood?  Have you been born again?  Why not trust the shed blood of Jesus Christ today?
